Non-Toxic Travel Tips

  • I suggest eating a filling and healthy meal before leaving for the airport. If your travel time is long, pack some nuts and dried fruit in a plastic bag and place in your small carry-on, in case you get hungry traveling. I do not eat on airplanes. I always eat a healthy meal when I arrive at my hotel (and drink 2 glasses of water).
  • I like to buy a bottle of water per person after getting through security. I try to drink it towards the end of my flight (so ideally, I don’t have to use the airplane bathroom).
  • I double bag together healthy supplements and teas that I travel with (they all go in the carry-on with my toiletries). Traveling with the below list of healthy supplements has made traveling great:

Healthy Supplements:

  1. Algae capsules (Spirulina and or chlorella capsules that I fill myself or take powder and add it to a glass of water in the morning. I take algae every day when I travel. And I take an extra dose directly after flying).
  2. Triphala: triphala consists of 3 dried fruits. Triphala acts as a natural laxative and colon supporter. Taking 1/4 tsp of powder followed by a cup of warm water or tea keeps us regular on vacation. We take this every night or morning on vacations.
  3. Collagen Peptides: (that I add to my coffee or tea while on vacation, at least 1 scoop everyday)
  4. Teas: usually dandelion tea, ginger tea and chamomile tea. Drinking tea in the morning and at night is something my Hubby and I try to do on vacation.
  5. Charcoal: I bring this in case hubby and I drink too much, eat poor quality food or get a sunburn. For drinking and eating, I take 1/8 tsp before and an 1/8 tsp after, both followed by 2 glasses of water. I add the charcoal to a bath with coconut oil and honey and it soothes any sunburn.
  • I recommend a backpack or tote to hold all toiletries in small (2 oz or smaller) containers double bagged in plastic bags. You will most likely have to remove the plastic bags and place them on the security belt. Make sure they are easily accessible.

Non-toxic toiletries for me and Hubby:

  1. Deodorant
  2. Toothpaste
  3. Toothbrush
  4. Floss
  5. Boars hair brush, comb and dry brush
  6. Dr. Bronners soap (for laundry and hand washing purposes)
  7. Bar of Herbivore Botanicals charcoal soap (for body washing purposes)
  8. Tata Harper purifying or revitalizing cleanser
  9. Rahua Shampoo and Conditioner
  10. Rahua Hair elixir
  11. Coconut oil
  12. Charcoal, manuka honey and coconut oil mixed together (to put in a bath after getting a sunburn, or to put on any sort of minor bite, sting or rash).
  13. Makeup: mascara, blush, lipstick and sometimes eyeliner
  14. Sunscreen
  15. Nail polish (if I am wearing it).
  16. Vitner’s Daughter Serum
  17. My Tata Harper skin set: brightening serum, illuminating moisturizer and illuminating eye cream
